Sunderland midfielder David Meyler is on his way back to regaining his full fitness, after a major injury blow.
Meyler came into his own after a string of excellent performances since breaking in to the first team. But that run of form was shorted lived after doing serious damage to cruciate ligaments in the game against Man United.
Specialists said that the young Irish lad would be sidelined for 12 months, but news from Sunderland AFC that he has been told he can start running on the damaged ligaments and with luck on side he could begin full training as early as next week.
