Hopes of signing Beckham are dashed

The Real Madrid midfielder has agreed a 5-year deal with LA Galaxy of the US MLS league.

Sunderland were one of 3 clubs to enquire about Beckham - others were, Tottenham, Portsmouth and I wouldn't bet against Newcastle offering £200k per week.

Oh well, who needs Beckham when you have the likes of Dean Whitehead and Graham Kavanagh?!
