Sad Day For Stewart and Sad Day For Sunderland!

When in Liverpool for the Everton V Sunderland game in the FA Cup, myself and few friends got talking to Marcus Stewart in the Adelphi. After chatting for some time, myself and mates decided that Marcus was a sound guy and very honest with us when asked about is contract situation.

It's no secret that Macrus and Mick didn't always see eye to eye, but despite that I know it not to be the reason his contract has not been renewed.

So what is the reason?

Why do you allow your top scorer to leave the club?

Why do you allow your most experienced striker leave?

The only answer I can come up with, is McCarthy has already got a replacement lined up!

However Macrus is gone. I felt touched and sad as Sunderland completed thier lap of honor approaching the North West corner as the chants of "There's only one Marcus Stewart, one Macrus Steeeeeewart, there's only Macus Stewart!" echoed round a packed Stadium of Light.

There truely is "Only one Marcus Stewart" and I wish himself and his family all the luck in the world!

Good luck from everybody associated with SAFC Macus, you've done the 10 shirt proud!
