The Prophet: Predicting the capture of Portugal U21 international Eliseu!

Last updated : 05 July 2004 By John Jenkin
The hardest thing when comes to betting, predicting and analysing the modern day sport is clearly football. It's the only sport I beleive that nothing is impossible as the famous saying goes "Anything can happen in football".

So many pudits, experts and scientists of the sport seem to get it wrong, time after time. Some of my predictions have been wrong and will continue to be wrong in some cases, but still manage to get thing 80% correct.

The Eliseu story is an interesting one. Belenense want to hang on to the promising young forward, which is expect for player of his quality. Belenense finshed a lowly 16th in the Portugal top flight and lets be honest, the Portugal league isn't the best by any means.

Eliseu's contract runs out in 1 year and Belenense will not and have state they will not, accept the thought of loosing Eliseu on a bosman next season.

Sunderland are a huge club and are what I truely predict, going to take the Championship title next season. Mick has been very quick in the transfer market, which could be a master stroke my the Sunderland manager, so his new assembled squad has plenty of time to gel.

Eliseu will be taking this all into consideration and thought of a chance to eventually play in the Premiership must really be attractive to young man like himself, playing in front of crowds, even the size they are in the first division must get the players attention.

Belenenese are to have show down talks with Eliseu soon, where they will promise the player full first team football next season, but I'm predicting that Eliseu will signal his intention to listen to what Mick McCarthy has to offer. Terms will be agreed for a fee of 400,000 Euros and the stiker will sign in time for Mackems pre season trip to the United States.

Not only will Eliseu sign for Mackems, but I still think Blessing Kaku will sign on permanent deal this week and Michael Chopra will sign on a season long from Newcastle.
