Welsh Appeal Lodged

The Black Cats midfielder was dismiised 74 minutes into the game at Anfield for allegedly kicking out at Liverpool midfielder Luis garcia.

The result of the appeal that will be studied by an FA Disciplinary Commission should be known on Tuesday afternoon.

If the card stands then Welsh will face an automatic three game ban for violent conduct.
